Knight Hack Southern AAR [grant]

Set in circa 1098, a (First) Crusader column occupied a small village, Yalki, in Asia Minor, when word of the approach of a Seljuk Turk force reached the camp. The Europeans immediately deployed for defense, using a ridge north east of the town and a gentle hill to the southeast to anchor the line. Pilgrims in the convoy were pressed into service—some were more enthusiastic than others, but a solid defensive perimeter was set up. Except for 2 wooded areas on the board (one to the north of the town, one to the east), and a east- west river (fordable) cutting the southern third of the table off from the north, the table was pretty flat and open. My table is 6 x 10 (actually 12, but we didn't use 2 feet at one end).
