Great Northern Conventions

Two of the best Great Lakes Area Conventions I go to are Hotlead (Stratford, Ontario) and MIGS Con (Hamilton, Ontario). Both conventions offer an excellant return on purchases (Canandian dollars are purchased at about 50 cents on the American dollar), affordable lodgings, dealers, fine food, and most of all some of the best gamers you will ever what to meet.

Hotlead

Hotlead occurs in March of each year and hosts several hundred if not more gamers and dealers. Stratford is an excellant place to visit when you or your significant other like to site see. Stratford is half way between Detriot and Buffalo.

A Brief Report From Hot Lead 1998

At Hotlead the turn out was quite good. Hotlead is held at Stratford, Ontario and is an excellent con. Room rates are great and there is lots to see in the surrounding area. Here, James Manto, author of Blood and Chivalry (to be released by Black Falcon Publications), exhibits Classical Hack and Classical Hack Scenarios. James has reminded me who he is with: it's James Cameron! DAAH to me for not remebering.

Lembit Tohver hosted a Classical Hack game and did an outstanding presentation from what I heard. But then Lem has always been very supportative and was the assistant editor of Holy Hack which was published by Black Falcon Publications out of Toronto. I always admire the Canadians in Southern Ontario for their very inclusive method of gaming at both the MIGS Club and at their conventions. Certainly Hotlead should not be missed if you live in the Great Lakes area. Stratford is close to Detriot and Buffalo. Keep a place for it in on your 1999 calendar; I know I will.

MIGS Con

MIGS Con occurs each year in August. MIGS CON I believe is the largest and longest running annual gaming convention in Canada. In 1999 MIGS Con will be hosting its 15th year! Hamilton, Ontario also offers a variety of places and things to see.
