The Basic Battle Continues

The game began with a general advance with the main Roman army facing off witht hat of the Celtiberians. There was a lot of activity as seen in the first two images. The Romans advanced with a pre Caesarian manipular legion in typical acies triplex (three lines-velites, hastat, princeps and triarii). These forced assaults on Celtiberian cavalry and small foot units which held up qite well.

The rock formation blocked the Roman advance on the right but eventually the Romans broke the Celtiberians. The real threat to the castro was from the forest on the Roman right in image four.
