Stand and DeliverBasing Figures in Classical Hackby Phil Viverito IntroductionIn any game system where miniatures are used there is a common denominator called basing figures. In Classical Hack Ancient Warfare 600 B.C. to 600 A.D. this topic is usually refered to as mounting figures on "stands". Thus our title "Stand and Deliver". This title or term clearly demonstrates how Classical Hack is different from many other Ancients game systems. This is especially true in mounting figures on stands and then grouping them into units. We do something with stands and units that on one hand standard (their regulated sizes) and on the other something truly unique; we make a true relationsip between order(ie loose order)formations, and tactics. No other set of rules permitts the flexibility in units and tactics that Classical Hack does. We will outline those details below. We like to think too that the difference brings a more historical flavor to our approach to Ancients gaming. If you are a gamer and not a historical gamer this information probably will not appeal to you. |
