The Importance of Basing Figures

Ok, so what does mounting figures even mean? First, by mounting figures on bases or "stands" you are dealing with an important organizational part of gaming. Placing figures on stands assists player in the general organizational of army units. It should be noted that in Classical Hack Ancient Warfare 600 B.C. to 600 A.D. we have retained the standard basing size used by international tournament gamers. This means if you have already based your figures to recognized hobby standards for tournament play you will not need to remount or base your army units. Likewise if you receive a sharp blow to the head and decide to change from Classical Hack to another system then you will not have to rebase your figures.

The concept of basing figures is an important feature and general convention that cannot be understated. Placing figures on stands is required and cannot be escaped. Here we will give you some ideas about how to base your figures. This use of "stands" will place your units in phsyical scales built into the game system. It is in relation to the amount of space units take up on the miniature battlefields you will fight on. Also stands permit you specific formations and have a direct impact on movement and tactics. The latter is particularly true in Classical Hack. We will try and deal with as many asects of basing as possible to understanding units in minature gaming.
