Knight Hack Medieval Warfare 1000 to 1400review of rules bookby Philip J. Viverito Knight Hack Medieval Warfare 1000 to 1400: Third Edition is the third set of rules covering Medieval Warfare publshed by LMW Works. This set of rules written by Philp J. Viverito provides historical gamers with a platform to put on historical battles in miniature during the Medieval Period.
This set of rules is designed for the historical gamer. It is not designed or intended for use in tournament play. It is ideal for pick up games and scenario play. The book contains color illustrations, diagrams, Q.R.S. and tactical notes on creating and using miniature armies. It measures 8-1/2 inches by 11 inches. The book has 64 pages and is indexed. Suggested retail price is $22.00. Direct purchases are reserved for Classical Hack Yahoo Members only. To order Knight Hack from your corner book store such as Borders, Amazon.com or Barnes & Noble the ISBN is 1-889584-19-3. You may also go to our vendors on our Products Page. The book is designed as a set of rules for using miniatures and can be modified to suit players' interpretations. This is the core philosophy of all the Hack series. Here's what you get: the basic rules, tactical diagrams arrangd by nationalty and in relation to time. In addition to this there are army lists revealed by percentages of unit types along with Q.R.S. (Quick Reference Sheets). Unlike other rule systems the Q.R.S. are the core for using the respective armies of choice. The rules use the now establised D-10 system like that of Classical Hack Second Edition. Rebasing is not required. Also smaller and larger scales have been addressed as well as the tradional 15 and 25 mm scales. Special specific Tactics, Siege Rules, Naval Rules and Unit Creation have all been included although they are not necessary for playing the basic game. In short everything you would have to figure out is provided for you to set up and play out engagements in miniature. Most gamers are playing this system by turn three without much difficulty. No words can express our appreciation to Steve Boley and Frank Sciuli as well as all those who helped test play the rules on both the east and west coasts. |
