One of the danger points Caesar had to worry about was the area north of Alesia. It was here that he expected an attack. From the north west there was broken ground which posed an opening between the works. At this point the western end of the northern line had several camps. I have elected to show just one camp here. More on that later. Below is a sample of the northern line of works that stretched from the east to the west north of the town.
