From Dr. Norb Brunhuber:

Event Description: Once Alexander the Great died, his most experienced generals were left behind to viciously fight each other for control of his vast empire. His Successors wielded the most professional army the world had ever seen, coupled to the most vile treachery imaginable. This is the battle of Paraitacene, located in present-day Iran, that occurred in the summer of 317 BC. It takes place at the height of the first Successors War and involves massive armies trained in the effective tactics of Alexander's combined arms and boasting significant numbers of war elephants for the first time. Antigonus and Eumenes square off, intent on finishing off each other and you are there, in command of mighty phalanxes, cavalry and colossal elephants. (Co-hosted with Mike Lorenzo.)

After Action Report: "...I ran at 3pm on Saturday and also had a few "ringers" in that friends of mine told me ahead of time they wanted to play in the Classical Hack event. We drew in the wife of one friend (her first time playing Ancients) and a friend of hers. We also drew in a sci-fi miniatures gamer that happened to be sitting next to the table. So along with Mike Lorenzo and Allen Kaplan, I had a nice group of 6 ready to push lead."

"The game went well with it being rather even throughout the 4 hours. Elephants going madly about the place to boot. During the game, we got a lot of very curious non-historical gamers swing through. Many immediately thought it was Hannibal on the table (just because of the elephants. Man, education is in order!). Also the organizers came over quite a bit too and took photos. All visitors I think were amazed at how many figures (nearly 1000 in 25 mm scale) we had up on the table and how differently they looked in form and in the paint job."
