Caesar's Auxilia

Below is a open order stand of Celts, 2 figures per stand. After the Punic Wars the Romans relied on using foreign troop types for support or auxilia. The Romans were never known for having very good missile units. Through out most of Roman history and into the Late Empire the Romans counted on allies or non-Italian people for their missile units..



Below is an example of a normal unit of open order Celtic slingers. I like using Celts in units of 6 to 12 figure units.
